Where do you get the news these days? As the video above makes clear it can be very difficult to find a news source that is reliable. There are many reasons that a news source might be biased and this makes it tough to find a source of news that you can trust.

For this assignment select a major newspaper, magazine, podcast, television network, or radio program to consider. Try to select one of these options that you have read, watched, or listened to before. Once you have selected your news source do a bit of research on the source. Start by putting the source into a search engine and reading a few of the pages that come up that comment on the source. Next, go through some of the content from your news source and try to determine if you see any sort of bias in the reporting.

Write a 250-500 word MLA formatted paper on what you discover about your news source.

Answer the question below in your paper:

1) What news source did you research?

2) What did you do to research your news source?

3) Does the research you conducted suggest that your news source is biased?

4) Do you see evidence of a particular bias in the content produced by your news source?

5) Should we consider your news source reliable or not?
