Discussion Questions: Imagine that you and your friends are flipping through TV channels and you stop to watch the above video on serial killer Rodney Alcala. One of your friends makes the comment that some people are just “born bad.” Another friend argues that the suspect must have had a pretty awful childhood and a lot of other terrible life experiences for him to behave so violently. Choose one of the 7 modern perspectives in your text that you most identify with. Put yourself in the shoes of a psychologist from that perspective for this discussion. How might you explain the behavior of Rodney Alcala? If a psychologist from your chosen perspective were to collect information from Rodney Alcala, what kind of questions would they ask or physical data would they collect?
