Instructions: The teaching intent of this assignment is to improve a student’s ability to be concise, provide context, and keep/identify the needs of audience/s. This assignment should help students develop/practice for communications such as: subject lines for emails or memorandums and key takeaways in business reports (titles/documents, graphs, etc.) and presentations (PowerPoint slide titles, etc.).
STEP 1- Post – use six words – to summarize your BIO-professional introduction. Do NOT exceed six-words in your BIO post. Consider using key takeaways to build your BIO post – such as: name, major, professional or academic background, career interest, or other business-related information relevant for a professional introduction.
STEP 2 – After posting your BIO Forum, read other posts and respond to *four business professionals participating in the BIO Forum. *Four/ 2 professionals within your declared major and 2/professionals in other majors. If (you) do NOT find posts (within your declared major) – you should respond to other majors.
Format for each post/response – should be concise and caring. Use appropriate business language. Excessive use of chat or instant messaging jargon is not acceptable for online discussions. Make sure to read and post responses addressing the topic as presented for discussion. Be concise- keep each post/response within a range of 6 -18 words. Support statements with experiences (e.g., prior knowledge, academic, work, etc.), examples (i.e., web sites or other resources). Do NOT – just post – “I agree or Congratulations.”
